Hi all
Started on a new permanent coop and run. Mostly using heat treated pallets I've scavenged here and there. Yesterday scored big with someone throwing out these 4x4 pallet-like display skids.

I attached these as the base of the walls on an 8x9 base of pallets, scrap OSB, and topped it of with linoleum remnants that the flooring store let me have no charge.

I will top those off with some more pallets this weekend. This morning at the work dumpster there were 3 1.5 ft wide by 4 foot long pallets that will be perfect for the base of my nesting boxes and a poop tray for under my roosts. Will update my progress as I go along. Here is the end result from last nights work.

Here are the long narrow skids I scored this morning. Looks like they will work great for my nesting box base!!

Now back to work!

You might want to block off access to any open areas on the edges of the floor pallets.....perfect habitat for snakes and rodents.

Well work has gotten in the way of being able to work on the coop. Been out of town for the last couple weeks, but got back at it this last weekend.

So far used nothing but pallets and scrap lumber, the only thing I have purchased is a few linoleum scraps. Will be buying some siding today to finish the outside and then I will start working on the inside.
