Being attacked by VICIOUS chick!- UPDATE

It sounds like it's just really scared. I bet "Killer" will be the sweetest one when it grows up! I'd keep handling it...with gloves and a hockey mask on.

....also, you may want to PM your name and address to a mod.... should you suddenly stop posting, they can send police and a priest to check on you and Demongirl....

....sorry, just had to throw that in there. Good luck with her, I hope she changes for her own sake!!!

That's exactly what the birds at the friends place I mentioned above did to me - I called them evil wackos (or worse) right to their beady little eyes. When the little crackpots later transformed into gentle beings I could hardly believe it at first....but they did and have been sweet ever since. Not saying that there isn't the chance that this one is just wired all wrong but hopefully she'll simmer down.

Okay, here are a couple of pics. It wasn't easy to take a pic of her as she kept lunging at the camera!

She is the black one, the rest are extremely nervous and shy but not at all mean. This is from when I first picked them up to bring home Wednesday.

Here she is today, not so shy any more!! I had to hold her while I took the picture so she'd stop lunging at me

She looks kind of he-ish to me which would explain the dominance behavior.

When I have a chick like that I give them a good peck with the tip of my finger every time they jump me and keep on doing it until they run. You need to establish clearly who the Boss Bird is!

Wow, in the first picture s/he appears to be giving you the evil eye! Are they all the same age? I know that they are different breeds, but "her" comb appears to be bigger, maybe she is a roo. Good luck!!

She is constantly giving me the evil eye!! They are all supposed to be 3 weeks old but compared to my 3 week old chicks that I already had they are about 1/3 of the size? The others are Cochins so I'm not sure if that is why her comb looks so much bigger because they are different breeds? These new chicks were already off the heat lamp when I bought them, could that account for the size difference between my chicks? Or are they just not really 3 weeks old?

Thanks!
