I have one Fleur D'Uccle and had brought a day old male porcelain to raise up to be a friend, but sadly he did not thrive and passed away. I've been itching to add a couple more D'Uccle's to my flock, I love my quirky little Princess.

Princess actually featured in our wedding photos! (disclaimer: her full name is Princess Psycho Pants because she is a bit of a nut about picking on the hens with more submissive personalities... The fact that they are at least three times her size does not slow her down one bit. I also channel my inner three year old when naming chickens.)

And I actually now have three more pullets and a cockerel Mille Fleur D'Uccle that I picked up over the weekend who are about a month old. They're in quarantine right now, but when that's over I'll be introducing them to Princess and Penguin (Mottled Cochin bantam).

I just wanted update with a picture of the babies I picked up last week(ish). I haven't named them yet, collectively I call them the Beeps because that's what their chatter sounds like to me, except the Rooster is called Revenge.

(Actually, his full name is "My husband brought a backhoe, so behold my Mighty Revenge"... Mighty Revenge, or Mr. for short. I'm hoping for a big personality in a tiny floofy footed package.)

Thanks! My husband really hopes the little roo has a big enough personality to be re-named "The General."

(Even though the cockerel's name is Revenge, his arrival was negotiated as part of the discussion about acquiring a back hoe.)

They're starting to warm up with me and chortle up to my feet when I'm sitting around outside. Too cute.

Was looking for a d’Uccle thread, I’ll add my trio here.
I hatched 4 back in April, sadly one failed to thrive, but I ended up with a trio! Yay! They are now 20+ weeks old. Are they slow to lay?? The girls combs are getting red, and I’m seeing a little dancing from the cockerel, but have yet to see them mate. I know, some cockerels are more shy than others.

They do take time to come into lay. My April 19th pullets aren't in the mood yet, and don't yet have red combs either. Patience!
