Belgian Bearded D’Uccle chat thread

I can’t find another “general discussion” thread on d’Uccles. If someone could link it, that would be great. I’ve searched and searched....unless I spelled it wrong while searching. :p

A few pics of mine. I have an adult trio (pair of porcelain, plus a golden neck pullet). I’ve now hatched a few of their eggs and can identify each girls’ eggs. The porcelain started laying sooner than the golden, so I’ve hatched a few more pure porcelain. Only one golden egg hatched so far, and the chick is gold colored. I cannot seem to find enough info on the color cross to determine what the resulting color will be. Anyone know?

I have 7 eggs due to hatch in 3 days. Would have been a lot more, if i hadn’t dropped something on top of the incubator and cracked a bunch of eggs on day 3! :he I taped a few of the cracks, and 2 look like they might make it!

Lovely chicks and birds! I really want to incubate some of my D'Uccle eggs but my 1 D'Uccle rooster is not standard and i'm already hatching duck eggs under a hen.

D'Uccle Update:
2 new D'Uccles. Mottled pullets. SQ. Their names are Sumac and Sesame:)! They have a little case of feather lice currently in their little muffs.
(why do D'Uccles have to get stuff in their little boots and muffs so easily?:barnie)

My silver mille fleur/mille fleur rooster and hen are doing lovely. Their names are frizzle (the hen) and silkie (the roo).

My 2 mahogany mille fleur hens are doing nice. Their names are Buffy and speckles.

My buff mille fleur hen named Betty is beautiful as usual!

I wish I had more :hitespecially porcelain or golden neck!:fl:ya

@cleoandtheflock we are in the same boat right now:( red fowl mites came home on one of my birds from our last show and my d’Uccle rooster spread it to all the hens..oddly enough only the porcelains were only ever really infested despite him mating with all the different colors:idunnoJust today we sprayed again and finally we have it under control...only to find my mothers NH red rooster has them now!! Oh well...something to deal with while we are all home I guess:lol:

Mites are the WORST end.of.story.:barnie

Mites are absolutely awful Good luck :fl

Happy that it's spring! Lots of 'at home' time now, so working on neglected (for years!) planting beds. If only wild golden rod was worth something! And volunteer mystery shrubs!
The chickens help rearrange the mulch, such a huge help.
