This one also could me male because of the reddishness but I feel like you’d see more at this stage because of this one

my quail d’Anvers have very consistent colors but this strain of Watermael could be different.

Yeah, don’t look for those things. At this age you should just go by color alone.

these are updated pics of my 5 Greenfire babies @6 weeks old. DO I have the genders correct. I'm not sure of rooster @2. I assume they are quail colored

I have no experience sexing quail but they look adorable!

The second roo is more the color and comb you want. First roo is lacking in the black coloring and his comb has too many sprigs (extra spikes). Hens look nice. And yes these are all quail colored

My hubby won't let me put them outside with the flock. SO, he bought them this cage. I'd like to rehome a rooster for space. the second rooster has a better temperament, but the first one is bigger and broader.
