Bento Box Fever!

WOW been a long time since this post has been up on the boards!!

I haven't tried her cookbook. I have been making Weight Watcher meals and appitiezer to help me keep track of what I am eating. I've lost 15lbs since 1/1!!!!

First, I just found this thread and I have really enjoyed going through each and every post! How neat!

Second, Can I just say...hurray for babybel cheese?

Third, I think you folks just solved my portion control issues and while I am a stay at home mom I really want to do this for myself each day. I think it will make a great way to lose some weight while having fun at the same time.

Lastly, Thank you Thank you Thank you for such a wonderful thread.

You can get some really cute ones on eBay, just watch the postage that gets you everytime. You really don't need a fancy box though. Some cheap snap top boxes are available. If you have a Beds Bath Beyond they have all kinds of boxes that will work.

It's really helping me with portion control issue too! I lost 5lbs last week for a total of 15 so far!!

Congrats to you CoyoteMagic

I think I am just going to start off with some of the cheaper containers for now to see how I like it before I spend the money for the real deal. I just can't see how I won't like it though LOL.

I had to bring it up again because my daughter is going to a private school and it would cost $2.80 for a simple lunch. So bye bye to low cost or free lunches! What I do not see are the thermos bowl for soup or spagetti. They do not have access to a microwave. No problem if it is cold sandwiches, fruits and veggies with dips.

I am debating on either getting the Igloo/Coleman personal lunch box OR soft shelled insulated lunch bags. How do you rate your kids liking it and parents liking to clean up? One thing I do not like are the soft shelled lunch bags because if they get done with their drippy fruits or liquified soups which they didnt tightened the lids or throws them in the bag and it would be

to clean up the messes. My DD is not the neatest thing to put things in the bag in proper containers but likes to throw everything in one bag type of girl and not worrying about drips and the igloo can be washed while the soft shelled bags would not.

Inputs please!

Actually, I think a lot of the storage ones are on sale now. I get an e-mail flyer from Terrie about the latest promotions. I'm not sure if the smallest ones are on sale, but it never hurts to ask.
