Agilityscots: Glad your box is working for you!! The only box that I have that I will pack leaky stuff in is my DH's Mr.Bento, which has a vaccum sealed container for soup etc... I dont have a LL, but maybe it will just take a little tweaking to find the best way to pack stuff like that

Asher: Hooray for impressing the teacher

Did you like her as well?

Henrietta: Good to know about the tofu dogs- thanks for that!! I was eyeballing them at our food co-op the other day. Glad I didnt get them!!

Ninja: Yum!! Homemade sausage sounds sooooo good... I have a jar of Penzy's Bratwurst seasoning that has been sitting in my cupboard for ages. I wonder if they have hot dog seasoning too? They have the best herbs and spices.

She's okay, but hours last night were 5-6 so I got there at 5. She had another kids parents in there and made me and three other parents wait for 20 minutes. This was not supposed to be a "scheduled" parent teacher conference time so I wasn't very thrilled to be waiting in the hallway for 20 minutes with my 6yr old (and two others from her class) who were quite restless and supper time for mine. heh Other than that...yeah...but if I'd known it was going to work out like that, I'd not have gone. (We'd already met her at the meet the teacher thing, but dd insisted I go and I wanted to reiterate that I was up for volunteering whenever she needed me.)

I sent DD off with her new cherry two tier bento. It was perfect size for her! Fit a sandwhich (rolled in burrito like style and then cut in three pieces), goldfish, grapes and some peanut butter wafers. It'll be more than enough for her to eat. I think it'll be too small for my big eaters (the boys), but that's okay b/c they'd rather take the tupperware than the bentos, anyway. I might still get them the laptop ones, though. We'll see.

OMG! this is too cute!!

Let me tell you, I am lucky I can get away with that with her. She will NOT allow her onigiri to be wrapped in nori, nor will she eat those nori-wrapped rice-crackers. This particular furikake blend gets by under the radar because it is "teriyaki" flavor, and she is very, very pro-teriyaki (and really, who isn't?), and because it has sesame seeds. For some reason, she considers sesame seeds to be an exotic and sophisticated part of her diet.

A phrase I hear daily from Bella lately (she first said it a couple of years ago, the first time she saw "Ninja Warrior" on G4) is, "I wish I could be a little Japanese girl."

I don't even get into the logistics of that with her. I think it's cute. She's a complete Japanophile.

My son is becoming one too. He loved Totoro and I need to find him some more like it to watch. His dad let him watch Samurai Jack and he's hooked on that too.
Oh and he won't eat nori either. Complains that the onigiri are sticky but when I suggest nori to hold onto he won't have any of it. Not even to hold and not eat.

it came it came it came!!!
I was all but hootin' and holler' in the driveway when I got the mail. The cute little Totoro box is here! DS is going to adore it. He might even give up on the idea of getting school lunch tomorrow!
I'll take a pic as soon as I fill it.
