Besides ducks- what else ya got?

I've only had one guppy. It hatched out of a tank that only had Platies and Mollies though. Remains a mystery to this day

Adding fish to your pond is good for the ducks/waterfowl right?
Yes and No.

They can be a great source of food and nutrients. They also can carry parasites if not from a reputable source. Also Fish also add to the bio load of the filter.

Oh excellent points that I had not considered. Thanks! Our pond is man-made, has some sort of natural trickle (from a natural creek nearby I guess) and then it's fed by a huge watering pipe. I don't know what to call it. It's not like a normal spigot. That sucker sprays! So there is no actual filter. So I don't think I want to add anything that isn't there now- which are just usual minnows and frogs.

4 ducks (hoping to add some moscovy ducks soon)
4 dogs
2 cats
17 chickens
a 10 and 29 gallon fresh water tanks
28 eggs hoping to hatch

in the past i had lovebirds (a dog got a hold of them and killed them) 2 cockateals, and 4 budgies

ummm guppies are born alive they dont hatch...sure you didnt have one in there that cot mixed up with the others?
I'm well aware that they give live birth. Though technically they do hatch just inside the mother. Which is why I usually still use the term hatch. I am positive. I've raised various species of fish for many years.

If it has some natural trickle you stand a better chance of it not being overloaded. Is their a place where some of the water flows away?

Ok so guess it's not a natural trickle. The people that lived here before were very thorough. It looks like an under ground pipe that leads away...think septic tank kinda thing... like a leach field I guess? Is that even good? See how much I know! But there is a seasonal creek nearby but it's the neighbors. Even if they can't utilize the pond fully we still be offering them fresh kiddie pools 2 times a day. It's habit now. (when I say offer I just mean clean it for them twice a day). And our soil is quite rocky. So it drains well over there.
