I personally like to raise them as well, I have with every rooster I have ever had.I guess I'm the odd ball because I like to raise my own from baby chicks. I've got 2 of the exact breed I wanted and ordered both. One is only a spare
Unless you can find someone who wants the breed you're raising you'll be lucky to give them awayI personally like to raise them as well, I have with every rooster I have ever had.
But it doesn't really matter what my preference is because I am wanting to sell them to other people.
Yeah, which is sad because they are pretty little guys. I would keep them if I wasn't keeping their sisters. I'd prefer to avoid siblings breeding with siblings.Unless you can find someone who wants the breed you're raising you'll be lucky to give them away
Black Copper Maran mix ×2Depends what breed(s) they are
Most people won't care for them. If you don't want to butcher them you can take them to your local auction because they usually always sell out there.Black Copper Maran mix ×2
Silver Laced Wyandotte mix
Speckled Sussex mix
I plan to butcher them if they don't sell. I have not found any local auctions that sell any poultry. Only things like cows. Most people won't care for them. If you don't want to butcher them you can take them to your local auction because they usually always sell out there.
Putting them in jars has at least a years shelf-life with no refrigeration required... you put your love into the birds I just feel its best for you(the owner) to be the one to do it. Plus if you jar them, you can also buy store bought chicken meat to jar to and not label. Given some time you won't know which jar is which and it will help with the emotional part.If I can't sell them then they will take a trip to my freezer. Unfortunately I cannot keep every rooster no matter how pretty they are.
