Yes, Omlet retracts like elevator doors if it detects any resistance. I have watched it close on my roostie bird, and just reopen and close a few times until the damn thing moved.
(Yes, I had tested it with first, so I knew how it should behave. And I was close by to intervene physically if needed. Now I don't bother.)

I have had it open well down to 9 degrees Farenheit. It gets slow, but seems to work.Also, how is this rated for cold weather?
