Best autodoor

Yes, Omlet retracts like elevator doors if it detects any resistance. I have watched it close on my roostie bird, and just reopen and close a few times until the damn thing moved. :p (Yes, I had tested it with first, so I knew how it should behave. And I was close by to intervene physically if needed. Now I don't bother.)

It'll fit anything you can cut a hole into, and they even have framing kits so you can mount it in different kinds of wire or fencing.

Also, how is this rated for cold weather?
I have had it open well down to 9 degrees Farenheit. It gets slow, but seems to work.

Thanks! Being in cold New England, I need to consider those kinds of temps …

I have a rectratcable door and I have had zero problems with it. The customer service is amazing, And I got all my answers quickly over texts and calls. Overtime the chickens will get the routine of when the door closes, which will help. Though it is possible for a chicken do get stuck in it, the door might open if it feels something stuck I don’t know. You would have to ask on that.

I just bought a Happy Henhouse CHIK-N on Amazon. I was able to contact support easily for a couple of questions. It is gear operated, has an obstructed mode so it will retract, includes timer or photo sensor modes. It's super easy to mount and includes the ability to swap the default 4-AA batteries for a 6-volt lantern battery that will last much better (and longer) in cold weather. Price was very reasonable.

I second Omlet! Super easy install and can mount to anything really.
I also got the coop light which comes in handy! I think I saw some promo codes online for 15% off too
