Best Breed for Eggs

The World Record holder was a Black Austrolorp with 364 eggs in a 365 day period.

I wonder if that record has ever been broken?

URGENT UPDATE: The record has been broken, by a White Leghorn with 371 eggs in 364 days!

i would get a few of each and also I have heard the sex links are very kind, our leghorn is kind but less kind than others, like our barred rock I would recomend one of those especially if these are going to be pets also.

Our Barred Rock is our best layer. She lays 6/7 days even through the winter. She didn't moult last fall and produced straight through. I really hope she decides to moult this fall because she's lookin' pretty moth-eaten and is missing a lot of feathers.

Our EE is also a fantastic layer. She lays 5-6/7 days a legitimate jumbo egg. She did slack off a little during the winter but still gave 3/7 days.

Both have great personalities.
