best broody?

I also posted this in the hatching/incubating board... thought I'd try here too.

what would be the best breed to choose for a broody? I live in Colorado and we get into the low 100f in summer and low teens in the winter with snow so that would need to be taken into consideration.
What do you think?

I have two silkie hens. With two hens, I always have one who is broody, usually both are broody.

I would vote for the silkies! Plus...they are really really sweet birds

My Orpington has been broody every year of her adult life, and she will sit on a plastic egg for a month or more straight, if she could, until she gets her chicks. We had to take her off the nest so she could eat and drink. She is a very devoted mommy.
 
Cochins...they are fairly hardy so I think they would be able to handle the Colorado weather. We get in the 90's with humidity and then cold in the winter.
 
I've got a cochin whose middle name is broody, and live in the mountains of southern NH. Winters are never a problem, not for a girl with feathers to the floor.
