I’ve been thinking the same lol or a German Shorthaired Pointer, Brittany, or field line Lab lol or another pit mix

He met a Boston on our hikes, actually saw him a couple different times, and he LOVED him lol

I've looked at German shorthaired. They always seem to be running away and suffer from separation anxiety. Husband wants a companion hunting dog. I think we settled on a lab eventually because they stay close. Don't like dogs that will wander off if distracted anymore. Both Brittany and shorthaired sound more hyper than a lab from what I'm reading. Otherwise I prefer no tails. I would guess a lab is always slapping you in the face with that big tail.

Yeah they really seem like great dogs! I love them. And yeah the shorthairs and Brittany’s are very hyper and energetic but so is Brewster so I figure they can wear each other out plus I love going on long walks and hikes and stuff and can take them with me haha there’s a huge field right by the new house for them to run around in too. Plus I figure with Brew and the cat to keep one company and training maybe it wouldn’t have the anxiety or run away hah some Labs can run off too if they follow their nose or want to say hi to someone hah but they’re pretty easy to train. The tails aren’t too bad but watch out for your coffee table I like crazy dogs they’re fun to train and work with LOL I want to get into dog sports with Brew and eventually second dog so it’s good if it has drive to work lol hence why I was looking more towards field line Labs instead of show line lol but I think I’d love a GSP or Boston

Those two are probably my top choice but I’d have to meet some of all to be sure. I’m hoping to be able to go to some dog shows soon and meet some there.
