I see a lot of different dogs at my vets that can make or break my decisions. My vet tech also tells me about how breeds are. I see so many different sizes and types of labs. Saw the biggest one I ever saw the other day. Looked as tall as a wolfhound. Than 2 normal labs came out, and they looked tiny in comparison.

I like the Brittany size, but husband says he wants a dog to hunt everything. I think he's dreaming and the dog will never hunt anything. I don't think either of us can train a bird dog properly. Personally I like my boston bulldog couch potatoes these days. Boy they can run like the dickens, but than sleep most of the day. More portable too.

Eyeballing pugs and puggles but not sure if they are a good fit or not for me. Always fun to think about dogs. Never enough dogs.

I read once though that field line Labs have just as much drive and work ethic as a Mal but they use their powers for good instead of evil 🤣🤣🤣
I just don't want another dog that is too much. The sporting breeds all seem to be big or hyper, or too much hair. I saw an adorable little German wiredhaired pup at the vets. He was a cute little stinker with his bearded face. I read they can be slightly dog aggressive. Otherwise I love the look of those.

Yeah that makes sense! They’re definitely pretty hyper especially when young - the first 1-2 or 3 years can be rough but then they’re usually great after. They’re easy to train and sweet dogs which is why I like them hahah I’ve read the shorthairs and Brittany’s can also sometimes be somewhat dog aggressive well so that’s part of why I’m leaning more towards a Lab or another bully breed although of course the bully breeds can be dog aggressive too

I considered springers but do they ever stop bouncing? Plus they need a haircut sometimes. I really like short coats. Maybe I should look at the shorthaired again. Be a while before I can fit another dog in, so time to think.

I keep multiple dogs, and some are smaller so I gotta be careful bringing in breeds. I also only keep females. So getting along with other dogs is always a must. Plus who want to deal with those issues if you don't have to. Sounds like labs are in both our futures.

That makes sense although often a dog’s behavior changes at the vets or groomers as I’m sure you know so they may not always be the best behaved or best example there hahah there’s a lot of poorly bred ones out there too which ruins it. I’ve heard there’s even some aggressive Labs and Goldens now because of poor breeding and puppy mills and the like. It’s sad cause they’re not supposed to be like that. I really like Border Collies too but they may be a bit much lol I like Brew because he can run and play or hike all day if I asked him to but now that he’s older he can also sleep all day if I’m sick or need him to. Maybe a bit of fetch or romp around the marsh and otherwise chill. Unfortunately he’s usually sad about it and I feel awful LOL but he will do it if asked.
