Best cross for olive egger?

Was wondering what the best cross for olive egger might be? Which roo over which hen?

Ameraucana roo X Marans hen.

This has worked very well for me and others I know but might not be the “best” choice.

It doesn't really make a difference, as both parents carry the genetics for egg colour in equal measure. I do agree, however, that it is easier to breed for darker olive when using a dark-egg hen and a blue-egg cockerel, as there are so many genes that contribute to dark eggs and the deepness can vary a lot even between siblings, whereas if a bird is pure for the blue gene, it's going to get passed on regardless.
