Recently I've become even more concerned with keeping my rabbits in tip top shape.

Some of my bunnies are sold as pets. I would be heartbroken if I heard that someone's beloved pet died from something I could have prevented.

Share what your tricks are to preventing diseases within your herd.

I'll keep a list of tips and tricks below for easy access.

1. Apple cider vinegar in their water.
2. Proper ventilation and clean cages.
3. Dandelion leaves once or twice a week for general prevention.
4. Comfrey to prevent cold and protein deficiencies.
5. Plantain weed leaves or Elm tree leaves to prevent diarrhea (particularly for young)
6. Dried leaves from Oak, Elm, and Willow for overall health.

Where do you get most of these leaves from? I would think picking them from trees around the neighborhood would be a bad idea. I know my store carries dandelion greens, but what about oak, comfrey, and elm leaves?

The dandelions from my yard.
The trees from my yard, my mom's yard, my sister's yard...etc. People I know who don't use insecticides or other nasties on their properties.
Comfrey from my garden. They get it fresh in the summer and I also dry it for them in the winter.
