Best DIY incubator?

I have been looking around for DIY incubators and everyone seems to have different opinions.
Which homemade incubator model do most people use and have success with?
Also, should I use a thermostat or dimmer to regulate temperature? And if thermostat, can it just be a reptile one or does it have to be a hot water one? Thanks.

As for temperature control, don't skimp there. I don't think hot water or furnace type thermostats are close to accurate enough for good hatching results. The spread between when the thermostat kicks on and off is too great and causes wide differences in temperature.
A dimmer may work if using light bulbs but I've never looked into it.
An STC 1000 thermostat is accurate, reliable and not pricey at all.

I wouldn't use light bulbs for a heat source since the constant cycling can really shorten the life of an incandescent lamp.
I prefer metallic heat elements. They're more reliable and efficient.
