I wouldn't leave a whippet unsupervised all day with ducks. That "chase it catch it" gene is strong.
However, I have owned Borzoi, Saluki, English Coursing Greyhound, and Scottish Deerhound. All of them were reliable around poultry and all were very keen hunters of their designated game, which was coyotes. Please note that they were trained to leave my birds alone. I didn't just toss them out into the yard together to see what would happen.
I've also had German Shepherds, a doberman pinscher, schipperker, and papillons. My son has English springer and Welsh Springer who worked the gun, yet would not even glance at the poultry.
It's all in doing the correct training right at the very first introduction.
