i used to have some but was just feeding them bird seed.

and am thing of getting some again.

any help would be great.

cheers youri.

I just give my buttons Turkey starter, I grind it smaller when they are baby buttons then stop grinding it after 6 weeks. I also give them finch food and ground oyster shells.

thanks a lot.
i asked because i used to have buttons but they never laid but i was just feeding them bird seed.

Turkey starter or the purina (around 30%) like Canter said is good, although I run the crumbles through the coffee grinder so is even easier for them to eat:)

Given the proper light (14+ hours) and a "complete" ration. I recommend purinamills game bird starter. You should see some eggs soon.
You may have to reformat (grind/crush) it to the proper constancy, but it is complete, and everything you need.

If you are feeding any quail "seeds" which have very little nutritional value...mostly high fat/fiber, then you are wrong!

i have sold them.
i fed them bird seed because the guy in the pet shop told me just to feed them that.

I wasn't judging anyone.
I think everyone has killed a gold fish or two, based on poor pet shop advice.

Just arm yourself with knowledge, and try again in the future.

To any Aussies here with King Quail.
Are you quail laying, if so would you be willing to sell your eggs to me.
I will pay well for the eggs and it doesn't matter how few you have or what colours they are.
I will also pay for packaging and express postage.
If you are willing to sell some please pm me and I can arrange payment.
Thank you
Martha
