Now that it's getting warmer here, there are lots of flies around the coop. I clean the coop once a week and use DE. I was wondering if there is a fly control method that's good and beneficial. Thanks!
I use Redtop flying bait bags. They are big, ugly, quite expensive, and they smell when you get close to them. They are also incredibly gross because they become a dead fly soup, but it is the only thing I could find that controls the flies around the coop and patio in the summer. Its worth it so the neighbours don't complain.
Fly predators really help; mine have been from Spalding, sent monthly. Also fly traps, away from the coop and house because they are meant to attract the flies. Sticky strips can help too.
