best food for dog with sensitive stomach?

She looks like a great little girl. I cannot express to you how much I sympathize with your concern. Never having children... our dogs are family to my wife and I. I hope you are able to figure out her stomach issues so she can be happy and healthy for many more years.

Thank you. She is definitely part of the family and has helped me get through some tough times.

I feed my dogs some roll I get in the refrigerated pet section at Kroger. It's beef or chicken but looks like baloney with pieces of peas and carrots. Does anyone else feed this or what do you think of this food? I'm sorry I don't have the name (you cut the package as you go and I'm down to last chunk). I also buy 4health. Would like to feed my dogs RAW but worried about not getting proper ratios. They also get plenty of raw eggs (from my chickens). Also, when I have raw goat's milk, I feed that to dogs/pigs and cats (should be next month all my goats will kid).

My dog always had bad skin allergies and stinking breath and yellow teeth , even though I brushed the teeth and she was only eating dry food and dental treats. She was only just over a year old.

She got really bad hot spots and had to have her neck and head shaved. It was nasty.

Then I tried feeding her on raw meat and she got better really quickly!

Now she eats mostly raw meat and bones. She likes chicken wings and legs the best, but I feed a big variety.

I don't add vitamins, or feed vegetables of fruit. She is like a different dog. Her skin is perfect and her teeth are really white - and no more bad breath.

Try it for a month and see if it helps your dog.

Just a warning:
I recommended Earthborn, so am passing this on. There seems to be a problem with the Bison-based and Fish based Earthborn here in western PA. Folk reporting dogs vomiting and seizing after eating those formulas. Nothing from Earthborn yet in the news. This is anecdotal reports from owners. I am feeding Adult Vantage and Puppy Vantage Earthborn , which have no reported problems and my dogs are fine. I have no production run numbers and no news from Earthborn yet. Next week will switch to Fromm until things resolve themselves and then back to Earthborn. This may even be just a regional thing, don't know. Earthborn has never had a recall and every production run is tested at a third party lab. Have not been to their website or checked dogfoodadvisor.com yet. If you are interested in this news, please search for the whole news before passing it on. Rumor wars are not a good thing. Earthborn is a small family-owned company and until this problem, has been a blessed haven of good nutrition for those running from tainted foods and recalls.
Best Regards,
Karen

Thanks for the info 3rivers. I know a facebook friend posted today about extra recalls concerning foods recalled about a month ago.

I hate to hear about a problem w/some of the Earthborn and will try to keep myself updated. As far as Fromm food goes...I don't doubt it's a good
food but I don't know how far I would have to travel to find it.

I haven't read through all these posts in this thread, so if it's been mentioned but it really isn't what you want I apologize. But have you thought about a prey model raw diet? If you want to look into it as a possibilty here is some info for you...http://preymodelraw.com/

I feed my dogs EarthBorn without any issues. They eat and LOVE the fish-based food.

To the OP, I would also recommend getting her checked by a vet. At that age, vomiting could be a sign of internal tumors.

Again, I'm very happy with EarthBorn but my mother makes her own dog food for her dogs. She basically gets whatever free-range, grass-fed meat she can (whole chickens from a farm near her, goat meat from me, grass-fed dairy beef from friends of mine) and cooks that and vegetables (peas, green beans, carrots, pumpkin) into a big mushy stew and feeds it to them. Her dogs, ages 11 and 8 thrive quite nicely on it. Sleek coats, lots of energy, healthy teeth.

Just got back from the vet. He said she has an intestinal infection and gave her an antibiotic and some medicine for her stomach. He said to only give her water today and tomorrow to give her boiled chicken and rice and plain yogurt and to keep her on a bland diet until she has recovered. She does appear to have some jaundice but he said sometimes that can be caused from an infection especially if it's around the gallbladder. If she doesn't perk up by Wednesday, I will need to take her somewhere to have her liver checked. So I am hoping and praying the infection is her only problem and will go away with the meds. Thank you all for your well wishes and advice.
