I think this is my last question. What about the red that appears on their head? Like picture with eye brows or this black fluffy faced one. (I haven't got my black ones uploaded yet).

Males get bright red combs and wattles sooner than females (though some breeds can be deceptive), but the pullets also get red as they near Point-of-Lay.

Oops sorry. I was refering to the red feathering growing on their heads. As many of my inquestion chickens suspected cockerels have these red feathers starting to grow in dark on their heads. The black on I picture has more red feathers seen.
