Best Hatchery for Quality Birds?

Im sorry Reven, It certainly wasnt you. The first chicks you bough sound awful and I think just about any hatchery can do better. I have never ordered from a hatchery so no advise except to say maybe one thats close to you would do better for less shipping stress or local FB groups may have chicks for sale. I hope you find what you are looking for and again, My apology.

Ever incubated Eggs? I live in a rural area to. I purchased a good quality incubator and had eggs shipped..hatched my own babies. Shipped eggs are risky..u won't get a 100% hatch...but u May be able to get quality eggs from a decent breeder. I have had chicks shipped 3x this yr...was awful expirence. Dead chicks..sick chicks! I won't do that to babies again. For now on...i'll hatch them. This yr. I've hatched serama and cemani chicks ...it has been very rewarding.

Dead chicks is my fear too. Eggs as well. And the problem with eggs is I can't get a refund from most places. Seems that only applies to chicks.

Altogether, since I can't find a local or nearby (within 300 miles) decent breeder or hatchery, I fear getting dead critters either way. ;_; But the stock I have available is horrible, so I'm a bit at a loss at what the best way to go about this is.

I live in nh and I didn't get any dead birds from either. For quality i think they both have decent birds. I love my silkies and Cochins I got from ideal and I love my spitzhaubens I got from cackle.
