I have only 1 experience and that is MPC (my pet chicken) and it was a very pleasant experience- I got what I ordered and very quickly, everyone happy and healthy so far. I had to order 5 and really only wanted 3 or 4, but I still love them all

Meyer too. You can ask for a free meal maker chick. THe cool thing about Meyer is that they have "Leanns adoption program" Leann cleans the hatchers and incubators after hatches. She always find late bloomers. They can be adopted for cheep.
Meyer also offers Black Copper marans.
I've placed several orders with Myer - and have been completely pleased each time. I've ordered online, and I've also talked with them on the phone. I was most impressed with how well the chicks were packaged. They're all healthy and growing like crazy. One of my orders was for hatching eggs - and I had great results from those - better than other shipped eggs and better than even some local private breeder eggs.
I have ordered from Cackle twice, and have recieved healthy chicks. We picked Cackle because it was the nearest hatchery to us, and reasoned the chicks would spend less time in the hands of the USPS. Both times they sent an extra chick, and we didn't have any DOA's.
I have had 100% success with both Ideal and Meyer. Ideal shipped 14 to me all healthy and alert and I picked up 25 from Meyer since they are so close to me, very healthy vibrant birds too!
meyer rocks. I got sixteen chicks, eight different breeds, all healthy and beautiful.
I'm in california, so the fact that they made it all the way from ohio says alot about their stock. And the workers there are so nice, it's obviously a healthy place to work and be hatched.
