Best lines in Country Music...or any music (if any exists)

I just couldnt pick a line out of this song, it reminds me of my son.

"My father had so much to tell me things he said I had to know
Don't make my mistakes there are rules you can't break
But I had to find out on my own
Now when I look at my own sons I see what my father went through
There's only so much you can do
You're proud when they walk scared when they run
That's how it always has been between fathers and sons
It's a bridge you can't cross it's a cross you can't bear
It's the words you can't say the things you can't change
No matter how much you care
So you do all you can then you gotta let go
You're just part of the flow of the river that runs between fathers and sons

Now your mother she'll try to protect you she'll hold you as long as she can
But the higher you climb the more you can see
And that's something I understand
One day you'll look at your own son there'll be so much that you want to say
But he'll have to find his own way
Down the road he must take the course he must run
That's how it always has been between fathers and sons
It's a bridge you can't cross...
We're just part of the flow of the river that runs between fathers and sons"

Chris LeDoux "Fathers and Sons"

Words to live by.

"There's a few things a man needs to know
As he travels this trail we call life
Like don't ever eat yellow snow
Or bed down with a tougher mans wife
Get your water upstream from the herd
But the best lesson I've ever learned is

Good saddles ain't cheap
But there're worth every dime
And you'll be glad you've got one
When you're on a long ride
You know a deal and a bargain
Are often misunderstood
Good saddles ain't cheap
Cheap saddles ain't good"

Justin McBride "Good Saddles Aint Cheap"

Now we might have been better off or owned a bigger house
If Daddy had done more givin' in or a little more backing down
But we always had plenty just living his advice
Whatever you do today you'll have to sleep with tonight

He'd say you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything
You've got to be your own man not a puppet on a string
Never compromise what's right and uphold your family name
You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything

Little Jimmy Dickens "May the bird of Paradise fly up your nose" LOL!!!!

Song: Everything I Own

I can't shower you with pearls and diamond rings
All I can give are dances in the rain
I can't cover you in satin sheets
But you'll be just as warm wrapped up each night inside my loving arms

I can never lay the world down at your feet
The moon and stars will always be beyond my reach
All I have is one true heart that beats
for you and you alone
You can have everything I own

I can't promise you the life that money buys
But I can promise you a richer life
There's places you may never see
But one thing you can know
I'll be there with you
Wherever we don't go

I can never lay the world down at your feet
The moon and stars will always be beyond my reach
All I have is one true heart that beats
For you and you alone
You can have everything I own
All I have is one true heart that beats
For you and you alone
You can have everything I own
Oh, you can have everything I own

f tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

Cletus T Judd ~ Waiting on Obama

Cause I've hardly been anywhere
With the price of gas this year
Sometimes I think they did it
cause they can do it
Billions spent on bailout plans while they stick it
to the working man
I guess by now they think we're used to it
Now I'm killin' time in the welfare line
Waitin' on Obama

I hope I can be half the Dad that he didn't have to be....
I am not sure who sings it. It's about the single Mom and the boy gets asked to go on the date also. He hears the man propose and prays that she says yes. I love it, but I am having a mind blank.
