best load for coyoties

I agree .22-250 is perfect for Coyote.

I have a Ruger 10/22 semi auto as well. I would think that would work well for a distance shot, but you gotta make sure you get a good hit and be ready to take a 2nd or third shot if necessary.

All the guns listed will kill a coyote if used properly, your problem is getting close enough for the shot. Good Luck.

Your 12ga with #4b- 3 inch mag is a super gun for close range.
The sks would be my pick if it is a good shooter - good trigger and you are confident with it.

I would not use a .22 just not enough to make a clean kill - unless you are a wicked good shot.

I opt for the 22/250 most of the time- it is the go to gun.

I would go with the SKS. Our SKS is very accurate, I don't have a scope on mine because I like the original sights. I wouldn't bother with a .22 because I have seen plenty run after being shot with those. You have to get a head or heart shot and if you are far be ready for a second shot. I wouldn't use the 4.10 either, I personaly don't care for those. A 12 gauge with a buck shot will kill a coyote. If you use a slug threw your shotgun make sure your choke is ok for slugs. If you use any other smaller shot for your gun make sure you are very close, because a size 6 shot for exaple won't drop him just make him jump and run.

I would go with your SKS or your 12 gauge with a buck shot.

Don't really believe in over kills...my hubby hunts the small whitetail deer around here with a 7mm mag. I personaly love my .243 a great accurate gun.

Also a lot of places you need a hunting license to hunt anything. Coyotes are a lot of the time year round animals so it doesn't matter when you shoot them. It would be a lot better to buy that $30 hunting license then get caught poaching.
