Best "low maintainance" bantam breeds?

I have had all types and the thing to remember when housing single comb chickens in winter is provide shelter absoulutly free from drafts but dont close the vents! keep the vents on the south side open. if you dont high moisture will develop and cause freezing of the combs. My oeg bantams do fine in temps in the minus 0 temps. The least hardy I have had would be bantam buff orps, seems like they were not very hardy. Also I had one silkie that insisted on scratching in the wet cold mud and she developed dingleberrys on her feather feet, otherwise all my chickens do fine.

I like brahma and wyandottes for unheated houses. Seem to weather the cold the best. Lay well as well.

i love my little mille fleur d' uccle. She just runs with the ducks. And she is also a great layer, right now she lays 4-5 eggs(33grm each) a week.
