They are messy to have inside for long periods of time, so I personally prefer them at the start of the warm season and throughout. Otherwise I have to keep them inside until it warms up. Plus I worry about them when its cold, even though my coop is insulated and plenty warm with a few heat lampsHi, I live in Australia
