Best pet breed that will lay eggs

Hi I am interested in having about three to four quails as pets but would like them to lay eggs

What is the best breed that will lay eggs and is it ok to get four Females ?

Yes,it is ok to have 4 females and I would choose jumbo brown coturnix.

okay, and at what age do you recommend getting them ?

Well if your only looking for 4 then I think the only way you can get them is adults,but try checking around your area and see if people are selling chicks,when you raise them from baby chicks they will become more ocostumed to you and not so flighty.

You could go for just about any of the coturnix. I personally like the goldens. They're a little "fancier" than the browns, but they're still just as easy to sex them. They're also supposed to be just as calm as the regular browns... the other colors aren't supposed to be as calm.

and My sister wants chickens can I have the elclosure have a divider for he quails ?

No, the chooks will probably peck through the divider, not to mention the disease issues.
