Hello, I have just decided in the midst of UK covid lockdown to do something new to occupy us and one friend has persuaded me to keep hens, another friend having told me that hens are the best pets I will ever have. So I have got four to start.

I love my dogs but my chickens are a lot easier to take care of and you just gotta be prepared for chicken math because once it takes over.... dun, dun, duuunnnn. You fit right in with us

Warning: I, too, started with four hens. I now have 19. I guess they are the best pets ever. Although they were the "gateway" pet that opened the door to my one rooster, 11 runner ducks and two American Buff geese.

Seriously, they are great pets, good for entertainment and eggs! Welcome to BYC; it's a great place to learn and share.
