I don't know which way you went, but I got enough to carry me through the year at eggcartons.com for 25 cents each (misprints ~ I don't care). Eggboxes.com for the same order would have cost me 22 cents (misprints, but again, I don't care). So, no big difference. Probably depends on how many you are buying, so everybody should check both places.
I DO have every person I know saving cartons for me! I even had about a hundred cartons stockpiled when my girls started laying. I'm OUT big time ... ! I followed several ebay auctions for a couple of weeks before deciding that just wasn't an alternative.
Our local store has them for 25 cents also, but they are all jumbo, which work great for the duck eggs, but our nice large eggs look small in them. (Just for customer perspective.)
Guess we just have too many folks with chickens around here, because even at the livestock auction they get scooped up for more than 25 cents each (and they are used). Sometimes I think I get more excited about the cartons my customers are returning than the eggs they are buying these days!
