Here’s my little golden laced polish girl, Poppy. I got her this spring and she hasn’t started laying yet, but two of her siblings have.

We set a bear trap but the only thing we caught was Poppy She had a haircut in this picture.

Ugh she really is too cute. Is that just a rubber band? I have wondered if the hair band I used just felt too heavy for her or if I had tied it tighter she wouldn’t have knocked it off. Do the feathers lay the way they should after they wear the hair ties for a while?

Our Polish chickens are soo pretty & handsome.

I hadn't realized they could have beards until I noticed one on Frompkin. I got the polish sort of by accident -- someone was giving away some extra chicks, and one of my initial chicks died, so I panicked and picked up 3 extras. There were two cochins and a polish. I kept the polish and gave away the cochins (they were roos.)
