Best Rooster Photo/Video Contest WITH Prize!

Wait.. I can make it bigger. I tried and it worked! Just post your information and your entered!

Okay. This was my first ever rooster. His name was Monk. He was outstanding. Very good flock leader, alert and intelligent. Very kind to humans, especially children. Deal was, you could pick him up anytime you wanted, as long as you put him down when he wanted. I always felt a special connection with him and was so grateful to have him in my life. My chicken "teacher" if you like. He is about ten years old in this photo and he passed away just this last fall, eleven years old. Pretty good looking for an old guy! Very much loved and missed.

That's okay;) Do I have your permission to use this photo? I'm so sorry that he died! My very first rooster died two weeks before his first birthday last year from a dog attack :hit

Here he is, in my arms. Died a brave hero!

Yes of course you have permission! Wish I had better photos. What was your rooster's name? He has a fabulous comb and an amazingly piercing eye!

Thank you! He may have only three green tail feathers but he was a beauty! His names Kingsley. Do you like his name? I made it up. :) Your pictures are great! I understand, I wish I had taken better pictures of him when he was alive. Are you going to get another one? I know he can't be replaced, but you could love him in your way...

Kingsley is a wonderful name for a rooster. I do have a young rooster now that looks after the flock. I shouldn't complain, because he's good with the hens, but he is a bit mean towards me, and I have to be slow and careful around him or he will take a run at me. So he's NOT coming in this contest!!! I'm really interested in following this thread and finding out what makes a rooster special and beautiful and useful in the eyes of the beholder.

Thank you. Kingsley respected my space. I really realized if I step a foot closer to him he would start to chase. I would step a foot back and he would leave me alone. All I had to do is respect his space. I could catch and he would run not attack me. :)
