Best Salmon Favorelle for breeding

Do you have any contact info for Mike Stapish? It's been tough to reach Dick and I never heard back from Rose. Though I understand she lost a lot of her birds to a predator last year.

No I lost contact with him a few years back and he changed his email. I was a member of the Faverolles club for a year and was not impressed with the membership benefits I was getting.

I am sure someone would have his email or address.

Just agreeing with what everyone has said before me.

I personally wouldn't use any of the roosters you have currently for breeding. You really shouldn't see wattles that large and their muffs and beards should be much larger than that. So that rules out one and three. Number two is definitely the best out of the bunch but he has yellow legs. Obviously they should have five toes as well. Which is another strike against number one. I personally feel that in the long run you would spend more money raising up birds from your current breeders than just saving up and buying from a good reputable breeder.

Here are some pictures of my old Large Fowl and Bantam Salmon Faverolles. Some birds are pretty nice and some are so-so. (Some of the large fowl birds were starting to molt. Particularly the roo in the beard and shank area. You can also tell who his favorite hen was. lol I have some other pictures running around somewhere I will try to find.)

I know these aren't the best pictures, but is this guy worth keeping? I know his beard doesn't look that full but it's wet. He's a little over 6 months old.

For the OP.... none of those look like they are up to standard.... but if you had to pick one of those... #3

I purchased my standard favorelles from Duane Urch (sells eggs and day old chicks as well). I bought a trio of adults from him at a show in MN last fall:

Here is one of the hens I hatched out from that group this spring (is now about 13 weeks, had a hard time getting many hens, out of seven birds I hatched I only ended up with two hens
