I am looking into buying some guineas but I need to have be fairly certain they are mg free - anyone know any good sources? Especially any that are monitored?

I've never had a sick bird, or any type of respiratory disease in my flocks, so I've never had a reason to research which sources sell MG free stock or keets... (and I have never seen any of breeder or hatchery advertise MG free keets either). Sorry I can't help answer your question, but maybe if you post this question in the chicken forum section of BYC you'll get more feedback. I'd definitely stick with the more reputable hatcheries/breeders, and of course ask them before you order. Yes, sorry, MG = Mycoplasma Gallisepticum
Occasionally through medication (at least with M. Synoviae) a bird will get rid of the mycoplasma but that is rare - you can dip the eggs and it will clean them but it also reduces your hatch % so it is not something you want to get . . .
Is Guinea Farm with NPIP? I realize it doesn't mean much to be just Pullorum-Typhoid clean, but that would make me feel a little better ordering from someone like them . . . have you ever ordered from them?
On another note, is there a difference between French guineas, Jumbo guineas and Jumbo French? They're all the same, right?
Thanks for all the help -
