Best/Strongest Way to attach hardware mesh

I use screws and 1/4" fender washers. Perfect size for screws, and as the screw tightens, it distributes the pressure across a wide surface, holding down more wire.

I believe this is the one I get from HD, at 100 per box. Also sold in eaches. Plan accordingly because 100 goes by fast.

For me it means less chance I'll have a sore thumb at the end of the day.

@aart I don’t think the regular t-post clips would work with hardware cloth since there isn’t much room or strength in the cloth to twist the clips around. I was thinking of using 17-Gauge Galvanized Steel Wire.

They’re is romex wire staples sold in the electrical section of hardware stores. They are not galvanized but are way easier to hand hammer than poultry staples. They are super strong and will last for years just not decades. They are cheap and do an awesome job ... I used them for my setup and it’s strong!!!

This is an old thread, but I’ll jump in!

19 gauge HWC, 1/2” squares. Instead of staples, use screws and fender washers. We’ve had posters reporting that determined predators can pull off the staples.

When we attached a HWC apron to the bottom frame member of the run, we did a zig-zag double row, 6” on center, so 12” between each on the top and then on the bottom rows.
