If you get them from a good breeder then you have better luck with not having leg problems. I thought the one person I got them from was...... but ended up having trouble. The second breeder I got very good birds from with no problems. I like the Black Swans, they are said to be less territorial than the whites and don't get as large. Mine are still under breeding age and enjoy attention. I can still go and pick them up and love on them. Even if I don't pick them up they are curious about what I'm doing. My one, Tango will come to the front porch or side gate and just carry on a conversation, especially if he wants something.-"Mom the feeder's only 1/2 full... I'm going to starve...." stuff like that. My one female is already trying to start her nest building skills.... 2 ft from the front walk way, LOL . They live out with my pair of Egyptian geese and share the pond with them, something whites, I believe are less tolerant of doing.
