Best time to get quail?

What would be the best time of year to get quail? I would assume spring. Then by winter you could get eggs? My main use would be for eggs and meat. But trying to get a line of natural breeding would be cool too. They would provably be Japanese quail.

Spring or early summer would be ideal.

Be aware that Coturnix (Japanese) quail very rarely go broody, so if you want to raise quail, you'll want an incubator. They start laying anywhere from 6-12 week old.
