Best way to fatten a duck for harvest

Nobody said starve them and beat on them till slaughter time. Nobody suggested shoving a funnel down their throat to pour feed in or nailing them to a board so they can't move. You are simply confining them to a smaller area. It's a very common practice.
It's clear you don't raise meat birds, congrats. Don't push pet practices on something that has nothing to do with it.

ducks won’t be happy in a small space. they should be able to walk around and forage, and have access to swimming water. in my opinion, you should do what is best for the duck. it’s not the ducks fault it’s a drake and someone wants to eat it.
