One o' my adult buff orps laid this today ?!?!?!?!??!

The one on the left is our normal everyday sized eggs that we git from our girls.
And on the right ..????? You tell me.

The one on the left is from a silkie pullet and the one on the right is from my standard dominique hen.

I do remember that mine was a hair smaller than 1 1/4, but the pic made it look bigger. I too am wondering what causes this. This one didn't have a yolk, but I've gotten smaller ones that did have a yolk, go figure...

* I got a smaller than usual egg from Miss Chook today, too. Not as little as yours, but a good 1/4" smaller than she has been laying. Only change has been the addition of some sunflower seed meats to her treat mix.
