Betta fish swimming on his side? (PICS)

I had a rescue with the exact same issue. It took him a few weeks for his swim bladder to return to normal. Bettas need a tank temperature between 74 and 82 degrees -- this means they need a low-power heater. Heaters for shrimp nanotanks are the best.

Also, a 1 1/2 gallon tank is WAY too small. They need a glass or acrylic tank that's at least 5 gallons at the minimum, and they require a low-flow filter. They need either bottled water or dechlorinated tap water. Distilled water can't be used because it doesn't have the proper minerals that bettas need. Live plants are always better than plastic plants. The tank needs an overhead LED light to allow plant growth. If there isn't sufficient space for the betta to explore and hide when it wants, it will die of stress.

Bettas like temps that are between 75 and 80 degrees F. ------ his tank was 65 degrees. 😢 So I'm slowly bringing the temp up. I need to buy a heater.
Yes, when I first got my betta, she would stay at the bottom but when I got a heater, she swims all over the tank now
