Better feathers?

I used permitherin 10 spray? I'm thinking of the growth is one of my Wyandottes :( I've been catching her lately following him around to eat his tail :( I don't know what to do to stop it though other then separating her?

Permethrin's OK. Was something else.

Feather picking can be a crowding and/or diet issue....or just something chickens do.
Folks who do show birds often keep them penned alone for pristine plumage.
New feathers won't grow in until molt, ya can't 'fix' the ones that are already there and broken/tattered. Sometimes when a feather is fully plucked out, it will immediately regrow.

Ok thank you! My girl has been a picker as long as I can remember :( I thought she stopped after we moved but I guess not. That have a good diet I think :/ eating flock feed (higher protein) and free ranging most of the day plus table scraps. And I hope they're not crowded I only have 18 and they free range 7 acres and they have two coops to choose from for night even though they all tend to sleep in one.

I sent the picture to a few vets and all of them are thinking it's a birthmark one thinks he possibly got burnt at a young age and it just healed oddly but they said with it not growing or being warm or sensitive it's nothing to worry about and he's perfect to breed as he won't pass it on to his chicks :) he just won't be able to be shown but that's ok :) thanks for everyone's help
