According to most sites, Swedish Blues seem popular amungst buy and sell groups and farm marts. Swedish blues when they are a week old seem very similar to Rouen or Mallards. Farmers seem to sell Rouens / Mallards around a week old. Before buying a swedish blue, always ask the person selling them to you how old they are. If they say a week or two old, its likely a rouen or mallard. I had this happen to me recently. Just a warning.
P.S before you get tricked into thinking its a swedish blue, look at its chest. If it is not a white heart on it, its notta swedish blue.

Swedish blues are blue greyish in color with yellow chest. And mallards and Rouen are both yellow and black. Sorry you got wrong breed of ducklings but mallards and Swedish are great!

Yes, you are right :) but Rouen's And Mallards seem to lookalike with the streak ( sometimes ) across their eyes. Just don't want the same thing to happen to other people

helpful, thanks
Just always do your own research, thats the moral here. Even feed store workers have no clue about duck breeds.....that why we have BYC! ;)
True! haha!
BYC is the reason how I realized my breed was a Rouen. Since swedish blues are great, but my grandpas seem to hate me! My Rouen just cuddles all over me though :D

Not true at ALL.
Mallards are grey with an eye stripe and 4 small white dots on the back. Rouens, while similar, have a DOUBLE eye stripe.

Swedish can be black, blue, silver and even chocolate. They do NOT have the eye stripes and should be solid colored on the body (according to the color they are) with white or yellow on the chest and neck area
