Hopefully, some of the chicks will lay super dark brown eggs! cause the maran crosses bred with a penedeseca will produce some chocolate eggs, I think. Still? that seems like a statement or a question and I don't compute it.

They will be crosses mostly, the dad is a penedeseca and then we have Brahmas, barred rocks, speckled sussex, wyandotte, and some maran crosses

I do the same with my flock. I love crosses and barnyard mixes. They're truly one of a kind. I've been hatching chicks every month since Halloween and the coloring always amazes me.

My jersey giant crossed with my barred rock makes sex links. The males have a white spot on their head and are barred when they get older. The females are solid black.

They definitely are penned in and have a yard too. I take them out daily to walk on leashes or just follow me everywhere I go. We go walking on leash down the road if the weather is nice.
