nice another amazing story of luck is that my brahma went broody so we put some of our own eggs under her and all 5 hatched. And ALL 5 were PULLETS no cockerels. we still have them and they are nice looking birds if a bit skittish

I wish we had that luck. I'm getting some Malay hatching eggs, so I hope I get mostly females, & will accept 1 male.

There's still scientific study going on whether or not temperature effects the gender of unhatched chicks. It's also a high debate topic.

Hmmm? I'm not thinking that's correct?
I breed other animals and the male determines the sex of the offspring.

The gate to my minI pigs door is too frozen because we had so much ice lately. Luckily the trough is ok, and right at the side for me to fill. Same with the food bowl. I just feel so bad that I haven’t been able to go in and try to get to know them these last three days. We got them 3 weeks ago and they are still pretty skittish. It’s sunny now, but still pretty cold. I’m hoping the sun will melt some ice. I don’t want to break the gate. I like purple too!
