Some of my hens like to lay up in our third garage in a giant box of wood shavings, so ever couple days we check. Today there were 4. Chris left them because he thinks it’s a perfect place for someone to go set...nice and quiet. I told him I don’t think it’ll work...i said we have to put food and water up there..,and he said, no because then all the others will be up there too. Do you think someone will go set up there? I hate to ever disagree with him...you know how men are...sorry if there are men reading..

Good morning.
I left my mom in charge of adding water to the incubator while I'm sleeping, like last year. I gave her simple instructions, I ask her to keep the humidity between 35%-45%, & she added too much water, & it's at 58%, she thought I asked her to keep the humidity at 55%-60%.

I'll have to remove the egg turner, eggs, & unscrew the platform to access the reservoir to remove the excess water. Then I'll have to sanitize everything as I put it back together.
That's alot of work with my incubator model.

Why do you need to add more during the night?

No, it's early in the morning to keep the humidity stable. I sleep until 8:00am-9:30am, & my mom usually wakes up as early as 2:00am.
