My comment about the price of corn surely answered part of your question since it over priced the corn, placing a skewed perception of the true price of corn in the Midwest.

I have found when trying to make my own feed it is more economical to buy already made feed unless you can buy in bulk and have a good place to store and have a grinder. As for suppilmenting feed becareful you can get into an area where they are not getting the correct nutrients.

Actually corn at the local elevator was 8. something the other day, which rounded up would be 9$. Retail corn, was over $9, something like 9.40.
