Well, actually Holly. Evolutionists and Creationists both rely on science, both sides could go on for ages arguing about which is true. I am a steadfast Christian and i believe and know that the world was made roughly 6,000-6,500 years ago, i believe carbon dating and radiometic dating are inaccurate by a long shot. there is a verse in the bible that states that he created the world, we dont want to believe in him, so we chose to turn to something that is supposed to be much easy to believe in.

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

That is chapter 1 of Genesis and it is the foundation on which the Bible was laid. The bible is Jesus' word and Creation was its foundation, yet in our lives Jesus is our foundation as Christians. We can not see, touch, smell, or use anything to know that he is real, except for Faith. and i believe as us Christians have to have a lot of faith. And it takes just as much to believe the big bang. i do care about what you believe but i will not force my religion on you, if you want to know more about Jesus and what we believe, you should ask one of us. but i will not interfere with what you believe, i respect what you believe and i hope you will show Christianity the same respect, and i hope to see you as a fellow believer in the future, hopefully, but maybe not. But i will hope you can understand and maybe even believe this, just know that i am praying for you.
(Sincerely - Xia Ruine.)

Maybe, maybe not. I believe in science and logic. Religion doesn't really fall into that catagory.

I enjoyed looking up the word "religion" in the dictionary.

I have also enjoyed reading books by Norman Geisler. Try http://www.amazon.com/Unshakable-Fo...310737&sr=1-1&keywords=unshakable+foundations
and http://www.amazon.com/Dont-Have-Eno...ds=i+don't+have+enough+faith+to+be+an+atheist

My point of view after reading the books above, science and logic point to the existence of God.

If you have read books outside the Bible that pointed you toward a better understanding of the Bible please let me know.

I believe that God in His infinite wisdom created all things with age.....He did not create Adam as an infant boy but as a full grown man, same with Eve and all the plants and animals so it stands to reason that carbon dating etc does not work. I also believe that it takes much more faith to believe in evolution than in creation. To believe that an ape became a man and some did not in my simple mind does not make sense. God's word is not going to be accepted by all till they are in need of prayer. Non believers will ask for prayer when they are pushed up against that wall of pain because the soul will cry out, always.

Romans 1:8-9
8..First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

9..For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers

I agree, Adam was created as an adult, the Earth and the universe were also created with age.
We look at language as a clue to intelligence, look at the incredible complexity of the DNA language using only four letters.
The complete book of Isaiah was found in The Dead Sea Scrolls in Cave #4, Isaiah wrote the book about 600 BC and the scroll was dated by scientists as 150 BC. God knows the future and had Isaiah write about Jesus

Isaiah 53

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

1.Who has believed our message?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
And like a root out of parched ground;
He has no stately form or majesty
That we should look upon Him,
Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
3 He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
6 All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He did not open His mouth;
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away;
And as for His generation, who considered
That He was cut off out of the land of the living
For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?
9 His grave was assigned with wicked men,
Yet He was with a rich man in His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.
10 But the Lord was pleased
To crush Him, putting Him to grief;
If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,
He will see His offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
11 As a result of the anguish of His soul,
He will see it and be satisfied;
By His knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
As He will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great,
And He will divide the booty with the strong;
Because He poured out Himself to death,
And was numbered with the transgressors;
Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,
And interceded for the transgressors.

Of course not, you make partake in whatever you want. Such is the joy of living in a free country. I choose, however, not to partake in religion or Christianity. I believe it is restricting and narrow minded. The industrial and scientific revolution never would have happened if people hadn't taken a step back from the Church and questioned its values. If it wasn't for the people who stopped blindly following a book and a man in a fancy robe, we would still be living in little huts believing that the earth is flat and that we are the centre of the universe.

There are a number of things, and thousands of teachings that could answer your question. Not just heaven/hell. Some believe in reincarnation, some believe they'll subside into lone, wandering spirits, and others simply believe we'll all just rot in the ground. No one knows for sure, and no one will no for sure until it's their turn to find out.
