Bible Reading Thread!

Also, I just got back from church camp and the theme was “Remain”. We can’t have good fruit if we don’t remain in the vine, Jesus. One way we remain is by reading the Bible.

I listen to an audio bible quite a bit, one of my favorites is the Parable of the Sower but I love Psalms and Daniel too. I've been working thru the late Dr. Chuck Missler's 24 part series on Revelation. I'm only up to episode 9 because I end up pausing and using e-sword program to look up things a lot. I finally finished reading the Bible all the way through! I skimmed some of it, but I did it!! It took at least 2 years.

Good job!!! What a blessing! I honestly don’t know if I have read it all the way through, cover to cover!

i do it in a year but usually read the new testament 3 times and old testament once

Audio bible is good for that. I like sitting down with a hard cover book but that's not always feasible so having the ability to have the word of God playing in my ears whenever I'm doing something that requires my hands but not really my brain (like gardening etc) is a real blessing.

Congrats! I finished my 2 year play a few months ago and am doing a 1 year plan rn. Good job sticking with it!

Love this! Reminds me of my favorite song in Handels Messiah, which is based off of this verse in Isaiah 40:5
“And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”

The song is And the Glory of the Lord. If anyone havent listened to it yet, I highly recommend finding it on YouTube. It always lifts my spirits immensely! I heard it for the first time last year and it was glorious - I listen to it and other songs from Handels Messiah year round now - it isn’t just Christmas music!!

Love this one. I remember an old preacher from somewhere in Europe he had an accent sounded maybe Irish/Scottish he came to visit my Bible school and when he preached, he repeated this verse several times and made it sound musical
